Wood Fire Heart Extension

On occasion, the hearth requires an extension to comply with the Woodfire Manufacturers Installation Specifications. One solution is to manufacture a hearth extension, which is then attached to the existing hearth. Here I have manufactured an aluminium hearth extension, removed the wooden trim & installed the aluminium extension in its place.

Echo PPT 2400 Broken Crankcase

Ideally in a situation like this, I would prefer to replace the crankcase, but, because of price & availability, the client wanted the weld option, much less down time (had it back the same day). I did this about 3 months ago for a commercial user & it is still going strong.

Replacing a Kent Tile Fire with an Enviro Pellet Fire

We are replacing a Kent Tile Fire, with an Enviro Bayview Pellet Fire. In this case, we're going to move the Pellet Fire back, to allow more space in the room.
We have already  removed the Kent Tile Fire & the liner that goes through the ceiling, this is the hole that is left behind.

Cleaning up hearth, ready for Pellet Fire.

We are moving the Pellet fire back towards the wall, so a new hole has been cut, & a thimble installed.

New & old holes.

I have made a new ceiling panel, to cover over the old hole.

Soaker flashing to cover over old hole & dectite fitted.

Once we have completed the install, we load the fire with wood pellets & run up to temperature. We then set the air intake, using a magnihelic gauge, to get the right amount of vacuum. Enviro Pellet Fire Parts

Aluminium Ladder Repair

This ladder is used for pruning pine trees, it has a broken bottom rung & the brace missing.
As you can see, the botom rung is broken & partially missing, the bottom brace is also missing.

I'll also clean this weld up, it looks as though some one has attempted to weld with gas.

First, I grind the old welds away, ready for new weld or rung removal.

Then I reweld rung.

I have made up a new brace & welded into position, you can also see a previous job of mine...patching the feet.
